that guy coulda live in the panzer dragoon world. which just makes it even more awesome xD posewise, if his arm is more stretched it gets more dynamic (like the straight punchrule in comics). some watersplash might serve the already nice dynamic and some cool-warm contrast and help to make the beast pop more

Hmmm i guess you should have twisted a bit more his upper body or right arm to make the throwing stance more powerful.

Btw it's a very nice composition, good work!
